Additional Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor Information

Breville Ikon Multi-Speed Juice Fountain is 900 watts. It has a 5 speed high speed motor that features a built-in electronic smart chip that increases power to the cutting disc under heavy loads. As a result, the filter extracts more juice and can make an 8 ounce glass in just 5 seconds. The 3" feed tube allows for the easy and efficient processing of whole fruits and vegetables, without pre-cutting, slicing or peeling. It is uniquely positioned directly over the center of the cutting disc for better balance and consistent results. The 5 speed settings make the Ikon Juice Fountain the most versatile juice extractor available. The lower speeds are for softer fruits and leafy green vegetables. The higher speeds maximize extraction from dense foods such as apples and carrots.

What Customers Say About Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor:

Got new replacement in less than a week.I then ordered my son one. send me free S & H coupon (FedEX)to send it back. Juices great.Viva MayfieldOdessa, TX Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor by Breville I ordered two of these. First one was faulty, The Breville Co. Have had no problem at all.

Some of the pieces in the waste bag were hardly processed at all. An entire bag of spinach made about an inch worth of juice. One good thing, it did fit on my counter under my upper cabinets, so it was easy to accomodate in my kitchen. This is the first juicer I ever had, and so maybe I expected too much. But the amount of waste was way more than I thought it would be. I was really disappointed in this machine and returned it.

I highly recommend it. I especially like the 5 speed that the juicer has. Breville makes the best products. I have other Breville products in my kitchen. I have been using it and it works wonderful.

I would actually suggest using a blender for the berries and then adding it to the extracted juices separately. Once you purchase a good citrus juicer you'll understand why this really is the only way to juice these fruits. The other types of juicers are the masticating juicer, where the item is literally crushed in an auger (a big screw) and compressed so that the juice flows through a screen in the bottom while the pulp is pushed forward to be ejected at the end. Expect then for the pulp of many soft fruits and vegetables (such as tomatoes) to still contain some juice after processing. leafy greens is what the masticating juicers truly excell at. Finally, though citrus fruits will work, you will soon get tired of peeling them as you canNOT juice them with the peel still on as the juice from the peel is not enjoyable at all.

We've owned this Breville for the last 3 months and have used it everyday. and the other is the citrus juicer which is basically an electrically powered reamer used to semi-manually ream-out citrus fruits. Each type of juicer has it advantages and disadvantages. The juicing process is really fast and the clean-up is a snap. you just rinse out 3 parts and brush the screen. The Breville belongs to a class of juicers called centifugal juicers. yes, it can get real messy, like as in throwing bits of food/juice onto kitchen walls, etc. The Breville is great for kiwi, apples, carrots, celery, brocolli stalks, grapes, peaches and plums (with pits removed of course), etc (none of which needs peeling).even tomatoes and strawberries (though don't expect the pulp to be very dry). they will not juice properly so don't even bother trying.

thus the juice is separated from the pulp. its both more economical and healthier for you that way. Motor is very powerful and the variable speed feature makes it more useful over a wider range of fruits/vegs, however really soft fruits such as raspberries, strawberries etc. the blades have dulled a little since it was new, which is to be expected but still all-in-all remain plenty sharp enough to get the job done. The design, fit/finish, materials used and quality in general are all excellent and intelligent. The downsides of the Breville are: even at the slowest speed it is still quite fast and fruits/vegetables can literally be thrown out through the feed chute if you are not fast enough to cover with the plunger. These work by forcing the juicing item onto blades that essentially finely grate it and the contents released onto a spinning screen (spinning at a thousand or more revolutions per minute) this forces the juice through the screen while the pulp gets held back and eventually thrown over the top of the screen holder and into a bin. to be able to juice all vegetables and fruits well you will actually need all three types of juicers. Now about the Breville specifically: For me its about the best centrifugal juicer out there. Leafy greens (including wheatgrass) are another problem item for any centifugal juicer.

we have been very please with this Breville and can highly recommend it for juicing most fruits and vegetables with the notable exceptions being leafy greens (get a masticating juicer) and citrus (a citrus juicer would be far more convenient) and finally don't be expecting soft items to be 100% fully extracted. and the lower clear plastic bowl has slightly discolored from all the carrots but again it is to be expected and is only very, very slight.Bottomline here. First of all a distinction needs to be made on exactly what type of juicer the Breville is, only then will these reviews be helpful. and some small fruits like blueberries do not do well in this juicer at any speed as even the slowest speed is so violent that they quickly slide over the top of the screen before much juice can be extracted from them. and there is no need to peel any of these items before processing, you just drop them in the large 3" chute.

I'm very satisfied and hope it lasts a long time. So far, it's handled every type of fruit/vegetable I've tried and the results are delicious. I'm amazed at how well this meets my needs, what a great job it does, and the easy cleanup. It is so easy to use I have been juicing at least 1 to 2 times a day. I save the pulp in a freezer bag and deliver it to my good friend for her compost pile so nothing goes to waste.
